The multi-billion dollar soft drinks and beverage corporation, Coca-Cola, is currently the largest sponsor of eSports, in the League of Legends scene. Last year, at the sold-out League of Legends Season 3 World Championships at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Coca-Cola announced that it would sponsor a new minor league series, called the Coke Zero League, in ammeter scene, from League of Legends. Matt Wolf, who is the head of gaming at the Coca-Cola Company, said: “Our partnership with Riot symbolizes how seriously we take this space. Pairing Coke Zero with League of Legends and collaborating with Riot on a new casual series will bring something special to players and help elevate eSports to a new level in the world of international sports. “Marc Merrill, President of Riot Games, is a strong advocate for eSports to be considered real sports. In an interview, at the Season 3 World Championship, he said, "As PC gamers who actively play competitive online games, we believe that gaming is a real sport, and we know that many players share these beliefs."
