I know they will judge him, but I want someone out there to realize that my brother was scared and did the only thing he knew how to do. My brother was raped and tortured just as much as the other girls he raped. My father sexually and physically abused my brother. I shared a room with my brother and I know for a fact what my brother endured growing up. I know my father tied my brother up, beat him with belts, burned him, and anything else you can think of that could be considered torture, I'm pretty sure he covers it. I just turned seven two months ago and my brother had just turned eleven a week ago. My brother entered the bathroom, but it was very quiet. I think the only thing he said to me was, "I'm going to have sex with you tonight." This shocked and scared me, because from what my brother had told me, sex hurt the first time. Well, after the bath my brother dressed me and took me to our room. He made me sit on the bed and told me to undress. I was a little shy but I took my clothes off anyway (Anonymous. 2011). Children who are part of a family where violence and sexual abuse occur will often pass this behavior on to their children; this comes from bad habits and examples of sexual violence and abuse. Considering that this is something that the child is exposed to often, it would seem reasonable to expect it to continue if consistently exposed to this type of behavior. This will be something that children will endure until an intervention is made. Intervention should focus on teaching children that the violence they have been exposed to is unhealthy for them and what kind of lifestyle they would like to have in the future.
