Why is it important to know how to speak the Chinese dialects commonly spoken in Malaysia? Chinese people make up more than 20% of the Malaysian population. By the early to mid-20th century the ancestors had migrated to Malaysia, as had the languages. The languages brought with them to Malaysia are Hokkian, Cantonese, Hakka, Teo Chew, Hainan and others. They are called Malay Chinese dialects. Dialect refers to languages spoken at the most basic level, languages that some groups of people feel comfortable speaking, but which at the same time cause separation between strangers. Dialects are a mark of a person's tradition and culture. Unfortunately, many teenagers stop using dialects. One reason is because they are educated in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia (the main languages). Furthermore, international languages seem to be the most important languages in everyone's mind. In fact it is, because communication is the main tool of everything. Communication is the connecting bridge between all humans, and speaking in more than one language helps you connect with more of the world's population. Speaking international languages like English and Mandarin helps almost everyone in the world stay connected. These 2 main international languages are the most widespread and spoken languages throughout the world. - Most of the world's major films, films and music are published in English - Most content on the Internet is written in English - Many countries choose English as their first language. - China produces many products that are used all over the world. - Given China's large population, many foreigners choose Mandarin as a second language. Knowing a few foreign languages brings advantages to travelers and...... middle of paper.. ....ry, children are only taught in Mandarin, English or Malay. In Chinese middle schools, most people communicate in the Chinese language. In Malay-medium national schools, they hardly communicate in any Chinese dialect, but mostly in Malay and some in English. Therefore, the use of dialect among primary and secondary school students is not popular. Chinese is a dialect that has slowly developed into a common means of communication for most Chinese families, despite their different language groups. Most Malaysian Chinese adolescents aged 20 and under have lost their native language, and most of them no longer communicate in their native dialects. The only people who speak their native dialects in the family are their grandparents. Consequently, with the death of the older generations, the use of the indigenous dialect would have completely disappeared.
