Airports are the main promoters of trade and commerce; they generate massive transportation and key economic benefits (Vasigh, 2007). Airport privatization involves the transfer of airport ownership from the public to the private sector (Jobs Consultancy, 2007). The privatization process aims to increase the efficiency, competitiveness and sustainable financing of airports. Considerations about whether to privatize an airport are made by governments and the decision has a long-term impact that follows (Jobs Consultancy, 2007). A full and thorough review of the decision is carried out so that the government can decide whether or not to privatize an airport. The complete review is necessary to ensure that the decision is financially feasible and to avoid making a mistake that could be chaotic in the long run. Privatization could be complete or only partial. The financial implications of the idea of privatization need to be fully reviewed so that a clear and transparent decision can be made. Airport ownership comes in many different forms. It could come through management articulating new investment programs such as asset sales; management contracts; and public and private partnership agreements. The objectives of airport privatization include modernizing both the airline's ground and airside facilities, minimizing public or rather governmental disruptions in the management and operations of the airport, facilitating the use of private capital and financing, building and finance airports and, finally, improve the quality of service. and efficiency (Vasigh, 2007).
