INTRODUCTION This assignment will focus on one of the extremely important topics of the numerous healthcare workplace hazards that can pose a threat to my health and safety in the healthcare industry . In my opinion, it is vital for me, as a potential healthcare worker, to be fully compliant in a consistent and continuous manner in considering all potential risks. Part I - Potential risks that may affect me as an employee in the healthcare profession1. MANUAL HANDLING I am of the opinion that proper technique and knowledge of manual handling is vital to my health and my long-term ambitions for advancement in healthcare. I believe that most back injuries occur due to ignorance about people not taking enough time to transfer heavy loads from one place to another, thus resulting in the famous "lazy man's load" injury. rate of musculoskeletal disorders of all occupations in 2010”. I also feel it is important to ensure that mechanical equipment, such as trolleys and hoists, are in excellent working order. If you take these last two points into consideration, the risk of injury should be greatly reduced.2.
