Personal EssayMy name is Staff Sargent Carl Kortum. I have been in the military for just under 10 years and have completed 59 hours of college credit. I am currently working towards a degree in Computer Science to advance my career and to make myself more marketable when I retire from the military. Through my experiences with the military and college I have determined that no one type of learning is more important than another, regardless of the student. Instead it is more important to use all types of learning rather than focus on just one. According to learning styles theory there are three main learning styles. The first is visual. This is a student who prefers to see information through notes, pictures, or demonstrations. The second is auditory. This type of student prefers to listen to information through lectures or recordings. The third is kinesthetic.
