How important is the state in the provision of public services? Introduction The provision of public services always plays an important role in a country because it can help stabilize the society. Public service is generally defined as public services or goods financed by public money. Public services can be provided to the citizen by the government, the public sector or the authorized private sector. There are two characteristics of public services: non-excludability and non-competitiveness. The first means that as long as the service exists, everyone in society can use it; the latter means that one individual's behavior will not affect the entire system. There are three main types of public services: maintainability, economics and social public services. This article will talk about public social services – healthcare system because healthcare problems are the most related to our daily life, health awareness is increasing, and people begin to pursue the efficiency of investment insurance. However, healthcare is also one of the most controversial issues. The reasons why it has become so important among developed countries are the aging population, innovation of new medical technologies, high demand and political factors. (Blank & Burau, 2010) Furthermore, designing a universal healthcare system requires government authorization, which means that the government has the power to control the market or a system. After international politics entered a new era called “globalization,” many scholars disagreed with regulation. Lodge and Wegrich (2012) highlighted 4 positions regarding the problems of regulation.
