I would detest and resent imperialists of any nation attempting to impose their agendas on my country and my fellow countrymen. While the financial compensation from the United States may have been a welcome change from previous patterns of U.S. behavior, I find the despicable working conditions and racial discrimination imposed against the workers who built the canal absolutely despicable and inexcusable. 4) What don't you like about this conference? I found the conference extremely informative and brutally honest. The only thing I didn't like was feeling completely powerless to help those who suffered at the hands of the United States. Our nation's maddening tendency to impose de facto slavery on people and nations around the world is absolutely revolting. It turns my stomach and makes me sad and angry at the same time.
