(8-10 Pages)Three Elements in RomanticismTo begin with, it is necessary to introduce the concept of romanticism, because it has always been the key word in the discussions of this class. In the period between the end of the 18th century and the 1830s, violations occurred frequently in Europe. The darkness of politics and inequality in society made people feel that capitalism, established after the French Revolution, was much less ideal than what had been described by those Enlightenment thinkers. People of different social strata, especially intellectuals, were very disappointed, struggling to seek new sustenance for their spirit. This type of social feeling was reflected in the field of literary creation, thus the movement called romanticism was spontaneously generated. England was one of the first countries where Romanticism emerged; those poets were dissatisfied with the development of capitalist urban civilization, possessed a kind of cynical inclination and the desirability of isolation. There are three poets, whose works symbolized most of the characteristics of romanticism: using reality as a basis, containing enthusiastic phrases, employing unbridled imagination, applying exaggerated techniques of expression, and conveying aspiration to the perfect world; they are William Blake, Samuel Coleridge and George Byron. In short, their poems are the best illustration of the essence of the True, the Beautiful and the Good.
