What is a missionary? A missionary is someone sent by Jesus Christ as he was sent by God. In missionary work, the great danger is that God's calling will be superseded by the needs of people, to the point that human sympathy for those needs will completely surpass the purpose of the missionary. 'be sent by Jesus. ("My utmost to His Most High.") "Go therefore and make disciples of all peoples" ("Go and make disciples!"). Missions are important to God because of the cross of Christ, the command, and His coming. The missionaries I interviewed in "Missionary Interview" said it is dangerous to be a missionary. For example, if you are in a Muslim country and try to spread the Gospel you could be killed, or in other countries where you can go days without food. God's call to missions is evident in South Africa with multiple ministries. However, the main religion of South Africa is Christianity. (South Africa). The city where Harold Peasley lives is Johannesburg ("Interview with the Missionary"). He said he lives in an apartment because he is always moving from place to place to spread the Gospel ("Missionary Interview"). The type of food he likes is steak, lamb, and other assortments of meat ("Missionary Interview"). Usually the temperature there is very warm, but sometimes in winter it gets really cold to the point that it can even snow! (“Missionary Interview.”) He said he usually wears jeans or whatever is necessary for the situation. (“Missionary Interview.”) I asked him if it was difficult to be surrounded by other religions. He said it's difficult at times, but it shows "great competition." (Interview) They practice their religion by using teams to move from place to place to share the gospel. South Africa is full of people who are not… middle of paper… throwing away tons of food and there is nothing they can do about it” (“Missionary Interview”). It's not always fun being a missionary, but sometimes it's satisfying, and spreading the gospel and the word of God is always rewarding. In conclusion, we should help share the Gospel throughout the world. Multi Ministries has had a great task in sharing the Gospel with South Africa, that's why we must help. They have donated bicycles to pastors to help them share their faith and we should too. Even if it's hot, it's cold, it's snowing, it's raining, we must spread the Gospel. I think it would be great for everyone to participate in missions. It can help them grow in their faith and help them in their lives.
