Topic > We have replaced journalism articles with senseless…

Celebrity gossip is becoming something that everyone keeps hearing about from celebrities like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Ben Cousins, Miley Cyrus etc. These celebrities are about to take over news articles, Internet articles and now even in magazine articles. This pushed journalism articles to the back of magazines and newspaper articles and made them less important and made these articles much smaller, which shows less importance. This can be seen in (____). Have we been so caught up in uncovering gossip that we have left the real news article behind? Our society is becoming more and more obsessed with celebrities for music, movies or simply their name in Hollywood. If you were to simply read a blog, watch business news or read Australia's best-selling magazines, we would be hard pressed to find no or very little, if any, information on world issues, unless it was a disaster or something that everyone will need to know. The sad reality is that it takes a tragic natural disaster for our media to realize that there are other world issues more important than those in Hollywood or sports arenas. Our society has lost touch with the political, humanitarian and economic difficulties of nations both within Australia and outside Australia. Our attention is increasingly focused on celebrity marriages, relationships, births, deaths and adoptions or the latest sports hero, drug addict, court or "after hours" brawl. Instead of focusing on what's happening with Australian finance or with local issues or with external issues in other countries. Currently, the best-selling magazine in Australia is Australia's Women's Weekly (gossip magazine), while the most educational magazine Time Magazine is ..... .center of paper......in focus. Entertainment has become more profitable than intellectual pursuits and has consequently given rise to an increase in volume. In our current lives we have to put up with gossip columns and get used to "fluffy" journalism until someone is able to defend journalism articles and say something that hopefully gives journalism more importance than gossip.
