MULTICULTURALISM: NEED OR THREAT? Migration is the first reason for multiculturalism. Due to numerous migrations nowadays it is impossible to mention monocultural civilizations. It is indicated that we can talk about monoculturalist countries only if they are introverted or if they keep away from technology and science. In short, in countries that implement oppressive regimes it is impossible to talk about a multiculturalist system. However, in repressive countries multiculturalism is inevitable. It is not possible to keep people away from the world, no matter how much their government tries to prevent multiculturalism, as Iran demonstrates. Even in ancient Rome people coexisted with different cultures. Both the economic and political orders allow people to live in prosperity. They showed consideration for each other. In every country in the world there is a variety of people, so in these countries we can observe different cultures and religions. People who live far from their hometown must know their responsibilities because they are representatives of their ancestors. According to Edward W.Younkins “the main idea of multiculturalism is the equal value of all cultures”. However, it does not depend on ethnic, racial or sexual issues. Differences must be guaranteed equality, justice and peace which are the needs of societies. Societies that are home to many cultures must show mutual respect, justice must be applied to all people equally, meaning collectivism has emerged. Russians in Ukraine, Kurds or homosexuals in Türkiye, migrant workers in Germany must show mutual respect. Respect is essential not only for equality but also for protecting one's values and traditions. Canada is the best example of multiculturalism... middle of the card... a threat of our century unless people show no respect for each other or all cultures want their own sovereignty.
