“Every day in countries around the world, animals fight for their lives, are mutilated and confined to tiny cages so we can kill them in outdated tests of cosmetic products, personal care products and household cleaning products. These animals are burned, blinded, poisoned, electrocuted, strangled, and tested in the name of “science” declared by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (1). Animals are abused and abused every day. They are poked and prodded during tests for information to find out whether the products will be harmful to us humans. Animals should not be subjected to tests that harm and injure them, the way they are treated is inhumane. Although animals have some similarities to humans, it doesn't mean they will have the same reactions. The tests performed on these animals are not very accurate as to what will happen when humans take the tested product. There are alternatives we can use to end animal testing. Animal testing has been around since 1920, many large companies but not all have banned the use of animal testing. “Some companies continue to force substances into animals' stomachs and drip chemicals into rabbits' eyes. These tests are not required by law and often produce inaccurate or misleading results: even if a product has blinded an animal, it can still be marketed. "(PETA 1) I also state this in the book "Thanks to the Monkey" written by Karen Dawn When cosmetic tests are performed on these animals "the animals are shaved and doused in products to see how long it takes for their skin to burn and blister " (Dawn 240). Think of all the products we as consumers buy and use that have been tested on animals. All those animals have been forced to... middle of paper......ronment for them” (PETA) We as people have the power to save animals from this harmful treatment and suffering that harms them. Be an informed consumer, do not buy makeup and cosmetics tested on animals if you are against animal testing the lives of all suffering animals and give them better places to live.
