Services, location, packages, rates, special offers: just some of the many factors that are considered when choosing hotel features. I was very curious to see how different types of hotels differ in what they offer, how they offer it and where they offer it. These amenities are extremely significant because they are what defines a hotel. They define the type of guests they are targeting, the type of hotel they want to be perceived as and the level of service they want to offer their guests. The impression that the hotel leaves on the guest is essential to the success of the hotel. The idea of adding services to stay ahead of the competition or getting creative with the services you offer is not new. The Journal of Retail & Leisure Property mentioned that since the 1970s, “hotels and resorts have sought to gain market share from their competitors by increasing amenities in guest rooms.” Amenities and amenities have always been a determining factor in deciding which approach to take for maximum success. By comparing an average 2-3 star hotel with a 5 star hotel, I was able to better understand the different amenities offered in hotels and the different expectations that some guests have in their stay. First I looked at the amenities of a Best Western hotel. There are so many Best Westerns across the country, but they all have a 2-3 star rating. I picked a couple of hotels at random and looked at what they had to offer. This isn't the case at all locations, but many Best Westerns offer free breakfast, high-speed Internet, meeting rooms, pools, hot tubs, airport shuttles, and fitness centers. These are just some of the basic services listed on their website. Many of the locations offer... mid pressure paper... d. I've learned that regardless of the type of hotel, making sure you're targeting the right guests is essential to the hotel's success. If a hotel knows what type of customers it wants to target, it will be much easier to evaluate what type of services it needs to offer to keep up with the competition. By looking at these two hotels I was able to better understand the importance of service, which amenities are best suited to the hotel, and the role these factors play in different types of hotels.
