When we criticize something as evil or righteous, better or worse than something else, we take it as an example to aim for or avoid. Without ideas like this, we would have no framework for our strategies, no opportunity to gain from the insights or shortcomings of others. In this space we could not make decisions about our actions. If we admit that something is a positive fact about a culture, we cannot refuse to apply it to other cultures, whatever the conditions that recognize it. If we refuse to do so, we are simply not taking each other's cultural beliefs into consideration
