Many live for the fear of death, many die for the fear of living. Suicide is the act of ending one's life due to emotional and spiritual problems. Suicide, for some, is seen as a permanent escape. The Church itself speaks out against suicide. Life is borrowed and you can't just give it away, God is the only one who can judge life. Suicide should not be committed because it violates our relationship with others and ultimately with God. Suicide is a selfish act in its own right. Every living human being has connections to their family, their friends, their neighbors and to God, ending your life will break those relationships you have. The catechism of the Church says that “suicide contradicts the natural inclination of the human being to preserve and perpetuate [one's] life.
