Organizations around the world are made up of individuals with different personality types and traits. This variance provides a variety of strengths and weaknesses within an organization. To fully understand the melting pot of personality, you must first understand and recognize the pros and cons associated with your personality. Once we have examined individual personality, we can examine the relationship between different personalities and their role within organizations. My individual ESTJ personality type is examined, specifically regarding my role within the organizational context as an employee, colleague, and manager. The potential disadvantages of the ESTJ personality are discussed along with the potential strengths. Ultimately, our different personalities are the result of the Lord's work and should be celebrated in all areas of life. According to Pearson's self-assessment, my communication style is defined primarily by friendliness, openness, and animation (Self-Assessment Library, n.d.). Unfortunately, I may need to sharpen my listening skills significantly. I tend to be task oriented and can be distrustful of others. However, this evaluation concludes that, although I tend to be critical and suspicious, I am generally considered trustworthy by my colleagues. My disciplinary skills need attention; however, my ability to lead a team is ranked in the 2nd quartile. My Machiavellianism score ranked low, indicating a low power orientation. However, self-evaluation indicated a desire to influence others through reward (Self-Evaluation Library, n.d.). Overall, this assessment provided a fairly accurate look at the strengths and weaknesses associated with my ESTJ personality type in
