The Wife of Bath is admirable because she doesn't care what others think of her imperfections and doesn't seek their approval. The Wife of Bath is so admirable because she is a confident woman who knows exactly what she wants in life. Alison is brave because she says that sex is a good thing, that women should have more power, and, above all, that wives should be obedient to their husbands. The most important aspect of his prologue was the mention of biblical characters who had married multiple times. During his time, it was acceptable for men to have multiple marriages, but not for wives. Alison presented the beginnings of feminism by opposing the sexual prejudices of her society to try to achieve more justice for women.
