I also feel that this course of study will fulfill my desire for a clearer understanding of the thought processes of the past as nineteenth-century literature represents a historical portal. My university experience has taught me the importance of listening to different points of view and so, with top-notch professors and my colleagues, I can explore them and reach another level of learning. This will benefit me not only by expanding my knowledge, but by helping me shape myself as a person; and, as a result, I will benefit the university by becoming a key player in research.
