President John F. Kennedy's passage of the Equal Pay Act of 1963 aimed to eradicate wage inequality (Sanbonmatsu, 2002). The Equal Opportunity Credit Act of 1974 gave women access to credit. Opportunities for independence came from women being heads of households and receiving a higher income. As a result, women have gained a stronger voice in their lives and within society. These acts created an environment where women used their skills to create stability and security. In the three themes, I explore the idea of ​​femininity and identify the progress made. In the Victorian era, women acquired home ownership through marriage. As a woman, the identity was defined as housewife. Described in The Feminine Mystique (2001), the women expressed a feeling of emptiness, showing the need for change. Divorce, careers outside the home and politics have helped make women more than just wives and have access to more opportunities and opportunities.
