For my lesson plan I decided to create a math activity that every student in the class could complete (most require assistance). Since this is a special education classroom containing students of different academic levels, this required some flexibility when planning lessons. While I wanted the activity to be fun, I also wanted it to be challenging for each student. I felt the Thanksgiving theme was appropriate and would add fun to the activity. Each child was given a paper plate and paper bag filled with a turkey cutout and a specific amount of feathers. Some children had feathers that were imprinted with the numbers 2, 3, or 5. (I individually explained to these children that these numbered feathers meant that they would need to count by 2, 3, or 5 to find their number.)
