Topic > The various steps to achieve effective sales - 662

The first step in sales is the preliminary approach. The way I did this was to research the product and learn all the information I didn't already know. Also, I know some customers who would like to buy an Apple TV. The customers would be adults. With adults the seller must be informative and polite. The next step is the approach. I could use any of the three approaches. For the service approach I might say, “How can I help you?” This might work if the customer was looking to purchase an Apple TV. Also, if I wanted to use a greeting approach, I would say “Good morning.” This would work for a customer walking into an Apple Store or a person looking to purchase an Apple TV. Finally, the best one to use is the commodity approach. I would say, “You have questions about Apple TV.” This works best because it is the most specific way to start a conversation with the customer. After that, determining the customer's needs is the next step in sales. To do this the salesperson must observe the customer for small clues as to what exactly they are looking for. The salesperson does this by observing nonverbal communication, listening and asking questions. Furthermore, the seller must research what the customer wants to know. For example, if you are curious about the new AirPlay feature, the seller should explain how it works. Let me start by saying, "AirPlay is where you can stream content from your iPhone, iPad, or iTouch to your TV via Apple TV. AirPlay mirrors what's on your device and puts it on your TV." Having determined the customer's needs, the sales person must present the product. This is when the salesperson takes out the Apple TV and shows them how it works first hand. The seller… in the center of the card… is either another Apple remote, which is cheap, or the Apple Remote app, which is free. These things could help your customer have an even better experience than they might have had before. Finally, the last step is building the relationship with the customer. This is an important step because it shows the customer that you care and also gives them a reason to return to the store. One way to do this is to instead hand the customer over to the checkout, take the order yourself and continue the conversation. Also, when the customer leaves, the salesperson should say, “Thank you and I hope you enjoy your new Apple TV!” I believe the best way to build a relationship is to follow up with the customer. That means if you see them in the store again, be sure to greet them by name and ask them how their Apple TV is doing. This will show the customer how much you care about them.
