IdentityWhat influences a person's identity? Is it their homes, their parents, their religion or perhaps the place where they live? When will they have one? Do they understand it when they know right from wrong, or when they can read, or are they born with it? Everyone has one and no one has the same one, is there a point in everyone's life where they get one? A person's identity is theirs, no one put it there and no one can take it away. Everyone in this world has a different identity because everyone creates it throughout their life. A person's identity causes a person to have masculine and feminine traits. There is no one thing that gives a person their identity, however there are many different factors that contribute to their identity. What is someone's identity? Is it their appearance, the way they dress, or could it be many things combined, or none of the above? To me, someone's identity is a part of their being. No one will ever hold it, touch it, or even see it, but it's there. Everyone has one, it guides your decision making, your thoughts, ideas and dreams. You might think something is terrible while someone else doesn't even care and another person might laugh, why? The answer is simple, everyone has their own identity and personality. Everyone feels, acts, thinks and dreams differently. People may have some of these things in common with each other, but they won't be totally the same, it's like a fingerprint, unique. There are many origins in a person's identity, family, friends, home life, religion, environment and others. But how do you get there, you don't walk into a store and choose from the shelf. A person's identity is developed over many years and put together by the person themselves. It derives from the individual's ability to think, reason and form an opinion. No one has the same mind, or the same, or the same consciousness, so how could anyone have the same identity as another? A person's identity develops over many years from the time they become aware of their surroundings, to the time they decide whether to go to college, and even as they get older, the identity will change with them. As people's dreams are dreamed and goals are achieved, their identities will change with the individual.
