The people are different, the customs are strange, and the government is not what many others have, but it's all good. America is so different from every other country in the world. The characteristics that make a person American relate directly to our differences from the world. First, the fact that every citizen of the United States has the freedom of choice. Individuals have the freedom to choose where to go to school, what to wear, who to vote for, where to live, which political party to support, etc. People in America have the freedom to choose what to do with their lives. Next, men and women are equal in America. Not only are they equal in social class, but they are also equal in employment and voting. It wasn't always this way; for hundreds of years men have been superior to women and still are in some countries around the world. Now, in America, men and women have the same opportunities. Finally, the American people are extremely individualistic and love to be different. The variety of people across the country is incredible. The differences range from what people listen to, what they wear, what they believe and what ethnicity they belong to. All of these differences are what make America beautiful.
