Depending on the crimes an individual has committed, such actions will leave him or her in prison. Sending an inmate to prison may be the right punishment for our society, however, it costs taxpayers millions every year. American citizens are practically paying for a criminal to be well fed, protected and comfortable in prison. In an effort to limit tension between taxpayers and government, the death penalty needs to come into force. The death penalty would apply only to criminals who face serious charges, including murder, and are required to remain in prison for a significant period of time. Such an idea should be presented to the US government in an effort to upgrade the justice and correctional system. Thus keeping our nation's taxpayers satisfied and having adequate control over our criminal justice system. When the time comes, our government will properly review the operation and realize that American citizens have value
