Ethics and online information sources What is ethics? In my opinion, ethics gives people the free will to make the right choices. People have free will to make choices governed with responsibility, accountability, and accountability. We have a responsibility to act ethically and be accountable for our choices or actions. Regardless of the circumstances and choices we make, there are consequences if we make the wrong choice. The question of whether an action or choice is ethical or not is fundamentally based on whether something is right or wrong. From an ethical point of view, unethical choices and risky behaviors can lead to increased liability. Liabilities involve loss or damage suffered by a company or other individual as a result of an unethical and sometimes illegal decision. Even though we exercise free will on an ongoing basis, we are governed by the decisions we make, and my belief is that the decisions we make on a daily basis are not just about us. These decisions affect other people, such as family, friends, colleagues, instructors, neighbors, etc. The most prominent example of ethics can be recognized in the field of technology based on the growing amount of rapidly evolving laws and acts that are taken into consideration in order to protect people from unethical practices. One of the most recent examples of ethical and technological conflicts in the United States are privacy issues and how we cite, distribute, and publish intellectual property on the Internet. For example, many businesses and people benefit from free access to the Internet and the lack of legislation governing the right to publish and upload information to the Internet. Today, almost every family in the United States has a computer with int...... half of paper ......t for illegal profit, the consequences will be unfavorable; therefore, a decision must be made to protect the rights of the original owner, and the responsible party must be held accountable for any infringements. What are the disadvantages of not having laws in place? The lack of legislation after a series of serious incidents, including government security breaches, would prove devastating. A state of mass chaos and uncertainty would eradicate the entire world and there would be no need for lawyers, GBI, FBI, jails, prisons or courts. Without laws in place, everything we face today would get worse and worse and lead to a series of violent retaliations. The death toll would rise to astronomical proportions and the glaring need for control and monitoring would become ever more apparent as each incident unfolds.
