The concept of Church, faith and prayer in Catholicism There is no doubt that the fundamental idea of Church, faith and prayer experienced by the first Christians needs to be rediscovered among many contemporary Christians. The belief that the apostles had to preach the Gospel of Jesus was certainly aided by their idea of the Church, of faith and of prayer. In his book “Catholicism: A Journey to the Heat of the Faith”, Father Robert Barron tries to revive the idea of Catholicism which seems to be weakening and losing its true meaning. With my understanding of the Church, faith and prayer, I argue that due to the lack of understanding of Catholicism that exists among us today, many people fail to understand what Catholicism truly means. However, it is not my intention to answer this question. The Church is the body of Christ where God brings his people together. St. Paul the Apostle himself calls the Church the Body of Christ, to which all those who believe in God join as members (New American Bible, 1 Cor. 12; 27). Jesus also refers to the Church as the House of the Father where God is to be worshiped and served, although not in the physical sense of the term (NAB, Mt 21.13). As the House of God, the Church serves as an instrument of salvation for God's people. God continues to call all His children to gather under one roof and dine at His table. There has always been this concern to share the Good News and to baptize all nations to bring people under one roof and one belief to unify their faith and thus form one family and one ecumenical Church. The Church still strives to realize Jesus' desire for all to be one (Ut unum sint 7). As the Body and Bride of Christ, the Church is also concerned with...... middle of paper ..... .faith in the God who creates the world, people will never be able to grasp the idea behind the Catholic vision and imagination. Furthermore, although God always remains present among his flock, one can easily lose awareness and awareness of this Presence that accompanies every human being. When we forget what Church should be, we also lose the community that must form and live. However, there remains tradition, images and architecture that speak and convey a voice beyond themselves that definitively calls people to relate their desires for depth and truth to the living God.
