The achievement gap is very evident and impacts low-income minority students the most. Although the federal government attempted to solve this problem with No Child Left Behind, the social problem is still evident. Since there is still a lot of pressure on standardized tests and annual reports, reform is needed. No Child Left Behind has proven inadequate and rather highlights the urgency of education reform. Although the act is titled “No Child Left Behind,” an appropriate title would have been “Education Left Behind.” More than focusing on test scores, education should prepare students on how to contribute
