Looking at America today I would generally consider myself a progressive. A progressive person is someone who advocates or implements social reforms or new ideas. However, they do not want a total change as they also see the benefits of some things and would agree on how to improve others. There are many things in society that I find corrupt and in need of improvement, but I would like to choose two to explain in this essay. One is improving education as it is the basis of all things and in the US education levels are dropping dramatically. The second is racial discrimination because even though it is illegal, it still occurs across the nation and affects many people. Reforms are needed to improve society. Education is an important foundation for life as the skills we acquire are used to improve our qualities of life.
