Peace is seen with different perspectives, by the government and by society. It is known as war subjugation, political justice, financial security, balanced economy and accepted differences between people. In the East it can involve peace between tribes, cities and religions. In the West, peace can imply financial security, a healthy and constructive relationship between various community organizations. It also promotes religious and cultural adaptation in a diverse society as seen in Canada. However, the greatest benefactor of peace begins at home, with our families. The practice of maintaining healthy relationships between family members is an act of peacemaking. A peacemaker is one who cares for his neighbor as much as himself. They challenge the necessary conflict, because they know that there is no other way to reduce injustice between different people and groups. Within our families a peacemaker is one who values ​​the importance of family and is aware that healthy relationships between others lead to a better lifestyle. According to the dictionary, the literal meaning of 'family' is “any group of people closely related by blood, such as parents, children, uncles and cousins” (Family 2011). However, the connotation of family can equate to building peace between people, regardless of their sexual orientation or preference.
