It is hoped that meaningful use will also bring an acceleration in medical data research. Electronic health records are now used to measure the quality of service of physicians in the workforce through the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS). This program rewards with reimbursement people who, through EHR monitoring, can demonstrate that they meet “quality of care measures.” The goal is to force the act of certifying electronic health records. Eventually, programs like PQRS will require certification, so anyone using these services will need to comply to retain customers/patients. To maintain efficiency and diversity in the healthcare system, EHR systems must be diverse. The full potential is achieved when information can be shared through integration. This is known as Interoperability within the healthcare IT system. Since patient data and information can be easily lost during transportation or translation via fax, mail, etc., interoperability is a major motivation for health information technology, or EHR
