Electronic health records are now used to measure the quality of service of physicians in the workforce through the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS). This program rewards with reimbursement people who, through EHR monitoring, can demonstrate that they meet “quality of care measures.” The goal is to force the act of certifying electronic health records.
