In this essay I will present an example of how a voice can reflect the writer's ideas and statements in applying Bazerman's reading method. In relation to my class article, Gary Klein used many outside voices related to his theory. For example, Gary used the voice of the rescue squad leader, the voice of a philosopher named Hubert Drefus, the voice of the Air Force, the voice of veteran firefighters, the voice of fire squad commanders and so on. Throughout the article, Gary used several voices of authority to enhance his point by adding another person's experience or opinion into his statement. According to Bazerman's method, I collected information about the obvious voice and the hidden voice from many voices. The obvious is an apparent sentence or phrase said directly by people. The hidden voice is a passive and emotional or behavioral movement that expresses a person's voice. In an example of voice analysis, I discovered several overt and hidden voices for the first section of Gary Klein's article. The first voice I discovered was the hidden one of the leader of the rescue team. In the first section of the text, the voice of the lieutenant (the head of the rescue team) describes his decision whether to fight to transfer the victim to the ambulance or stabilize him
