People are acting opposite to their own culture, and in some cases, they are completely adopting another culture which firmly believes that globalization will make people lose their identity (Anon n.d.). Originally, identity loss can be caused by culture shock issues, when people lose control of a new culture or are not mentally ready to accept it. It is argued that many people have left their home country to work or study abroad, but when they return to their countries they no longer show their identity. It is commonly caused by a new language and habits that automatically differentiate them from the locals. There is difficulty in reintegrating them into society, as there is a cultural gap. In Sweden, when local schools teach Arabic and provide students with halal food and this suggests that Sweden has lost its identity as a Western country (Anon n.d.).
