Introduction: As Christians we read, speak, and learn about the attributes and nature of God throughout our Christian lives. I'm talking about the uniqueness and his personality that we are all part of every day of our lives or in our relationship with him. Throughout history God has left hidden jewels in the Bible about who He really is. On the other hand, the Bible lists a few attributes of who he is, but as always it is incomplete and we must search for his own attributes in nature. Sovereignty: The meaning of this word is supreme power or authority over everything. • Exodus 18:11 - Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods. Yes, in that very thing in which they carried themselves with pride [he showed himself infinitely superior to all their gods] • Psalm 115:3 - But our God is in heaven; He does what he wants. Self-Existence Intrinsic existence; existence possessed by virtue of the proper nature of a being and independent of any other being or cause; - a peculiar attribute of God. • Exodus 3:14 —And God said unto Moses, I am that which I am, and that which I am, and that which I will be; and said: You shall say this to the Israelites: I am has sent me to you! • Psalm 90:2 — Before the mountains were brought forth, and thou formedt and brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting thou art God. Since we have in a sense come out of nowhere, nothing supports us from the total destruction the devil wants us to experience, but the spirit and power of God intervene. So, let us experience the Scriptures in a profound way, especially allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to us as we look at the portrait of God seen in Jesus. We must allow ourselves to know God on a personal level. In Ecclesiastes 12:13 it says “Everything has been heard; the end of the matter is: fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He exists] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole man [the full and original purpose of His creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, adaptation to all circumstances and inharmonious conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.
