The World Health Organization (WHO) (2015) reveals that evidence indicates that total fat should not exceed 30% of total energy intake to avoid unhealthy weight gain . In other words, it is important to follow an adequate and balanced diet combined with regular physical activity. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010, released on January 31, 2011 and released by the Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), encourage Americans to focus on a healthy diet to maintain a healthy weight, healthy and prevent disease. According to the Washington Post (2011), the USDA replaced the food pyramid with “MyPlate” in June 2011 to promote healthy eating. “MyPlate” focuses on fruits and varieties of vegetables, which cover half the plate. Grains and proteins cover another half of the plate.
