One example I need to work on specifically is my emotional intelligence. While I am able to maintain my emotional stability, I know I lack empathy for others and will need to work on that skill specifically when I become a supervisor. I'm always willing to help others, but I try to stay out of the emotional aspect. This is where my type A personality comes in and I will help you with tasks that don't involve the emotional aspects. If I have a weakness that affects my organization, at most it will be the one I will have to improve. Not necessarily for the inmates I deal with, but for my colleagues and subordinates. Another issue I can work on is my organizational skills, and I've found that I'm more of a procrastinator than I once thought. Not that I'm a big procrastinator, that's a higher rating than I'd like. I need to work on better time management skills, which will reduce work stress due to
