Hospital Management Case StudyAnalysisMy analysis of this case is that the communication process in hospital is the biggest problem. Chris is a recent college graduate and already an associate CEO of a huge organization with little experience, Pat, the CEO of the organization, wants Chris to make decisions on a problem he knows little about having just been hired. The problem is that the CEO is handing off much of the work to the new person and counting on him to think about how to overcome many of the problems that have been happening for a while. Some of the issues in the case are that people working at the hospital are making medical decisions that shouldn't be made and insurance companies are also making decisions about what a certified doctor should make. Another problem at the hospital is that the finances are not as they should be and the CEO is saying that the operations are not as they should be. If the following recommendations are followed, the hospital should run much more smoothly. All the problems that have arisen could be rolled into one problem is that there is no communication with departments and people are making decisions that should not be made. Summary My recommendations that should be made are that both the CEO who is Pat and the associate CEO Chris should work on it together and come up with some ideas. It is true that the hospital needs new ideas, which Chris can provide, but in this situation it also needs the experience that Pat can provide, which has only given Chris a small overview of the problems that are occurring. There should be strict guidelines in the hospital when making decisions about patient well-being because right now prescriptions are written without insurance and paid in installments, nurses make decisions on DNR directives, insurance companies tell doctors what a patient taken care of.PrescriptionAll these scenarios have to do with how the communication process is handled and how situations are handled is affecting hospitals finances due to the daily cost of taking care of a patient.
