F.Scott Fitzgerald wrote one of the best novels in American history. The book titled “The Great Gatsby” is about this mysterious individual named Jay Gatsby who is very rich and famous. Gatsby from an early age despised poverty and had big dreams for himself. Gatsby was not fortunate enough to be born into a wealthy family and, due to his lust for money, was involved in organized crime and alcohol smuggling. The narrator and self-proclaimed author of the book is Nick Carraway, who is also a neighbor of Jay Gatsby and is a very confident and honest person. Jay Gatsby is a confused man who is stuck between the past and the future and can't get over the fact that time has changed and now he can rekindle his past relationship with Daisy. Gatsby is a complicated individual and is a very prosperous person and always throws parties. his home, frequented by almost everyone, including politicians and the city's elite. Fitzgerald, the writer of the novel, does not tell the readers about the ulterior motives of Gatsby's parties until the end of the novel. Gatsby is very upset and has not been able to get rid of his past and is stuck with it. Gatsby throughout the novel has no idea that time flies by and he cannot go back to the past and repair what he has ruined. The novel tried to convince readers that it is always a good idea to let go of the past and move on with life rather than fixing what cannot be fixed. The novel Gatsby tried to correct his past mistakes and this got him killed in the bud. Gatsby's greatness is the main theme of the novel and evolves throughout the novel. Gatsby can be described as an exceptional person when it comes to accumulating wealth and supporting himself... middle of paper... In addition to that, she had fallen in love with Jay but when he left for war ; Tom entered the picture and promised her a rich and solid life. She then married Tom for what simply shows the way she is attracted to wealth. While on the other hand Myrtle is a woman who has seen poverty her whole life and the only reason why she is Tom's lover despite being married is that she knows Tom. he can get her anything. In my opinion, Nick can be described as the true hero of the story because he is the one who always tries to make things right for everyone and is very selfless. In the novel, when Jay Gatsby asks him for a favor, which is to arrange a meeting between Daisy and Gatsby, Nick agrees to do it. After Gatsby realizes that Nick will arrange the meeting, he offers him money and a new business opportunity that Nick also looks forward to
