At first it was difficult to distinguish the houses, they looked more or less the same. I could only walk short distances to avoid getting lost and being able to track myself. My accent was very deep most of the time and I had to repeat myself while making a statement. Yet my identity coexisted within me at the beginning everyone felt blocked, there was still a long process to overcome. All the while my family stayed together, we enrolled in schools, my parents got jobs at Warmart so they could support us. Our parents encouraged us to mix freely with other peers of other races and religions and to remain humble. We are now all stable and capable of self-support, we have been able to progress successfully, we have persevered through the obstacles that have come our way.
