Are women in India still considered inferior to men? Why is the boy considered the bearer of the family and the girl is shunned? Why aren't women given the same educational opportunities to compete with men? I remember that as a girl growing up in India, my mother was always confined to the house. His mandatory duties were to take care of me and my brother, cook for the whole family and take on all the necessary tasks that were expected in our house. He has never been able to leave the house for any reason other than to fulfill his domestic duties. This was considered a common expectation for most Indian women in our society. However, my father's role was different. His duties consisted of working and earning a salary to support our family. He didn't have to take care of me and my brother emotionally or physically. He didn't have to take care of household chores or help my mother with her household chores. This is a common lifestyle for people in India. I wonder if my mother was content or ever wanted more in her life instead of being confined to the house. Whatever the case, he had no choice. At that time, my mother's life was no different from that of any other woman in India. Women were considered inferior to men. With the growing number of feminists and women's rights advocates, the treatment of women in India still lags behind other modern societies. Some factors that contribute to the repression of women are education, culture and religion. I remember at one point women were not allowed to attend colleges and universities because there were laws against them. If any woman had the goal of becoming......the center of the card......ly. Most educated women today prefer to consider family and children as their first priority. Now, in India a working woman is still expected to take care of household responsibilities, while her husband may be willing to offer a helping hand at times. We have entered a new era, where women are not better than men, or vice versa. Both women and men have different talents, strengths and weaknesses. It is said that behind every successful man there is a woman who made him successful. Women should no longer be considered the inferior sex. They should stand together with men and define their role in society. They can choose to work outside or stay at home. This should allow women to have more time to develop their interests. Men should also do an equal share of housework to free women from cooking.
