KFS assumes responsibility for defective items and replaces them according to the initial order. After the arrival of the special supply, the TMM team has to go beyond their commitments to attach the new seats to the cars outside of the usual assembly line. Even among new seats supplied, defects are sometimes noticed which lead to further problems. The simple fact that even the seats intended to replace the original ones can have defects is an indication that the problem could come from the supplier. KFS is therefore required to reorganize its operations and address the quality issue once and for all so as not to waste time redoing the seats. Because KFS has also implemented some aspects of the TMS, it can effectively address the seating issue by reviewing its operations to determine the sections of the manufacturing process that cause defects. Furthermore, its employees need to be informed about some of the defect detection approaches used at TMM so as to improve the quality of products provided to customers.
