I took this course as an elective course from first to third year. --My high school in Purvis, Mississippi, didn't have it--. Everyone I knew was in class, so it was an unmissable course. There were drills, promotion committees, PTs, and boot camps where we rappelled from towers and did other crazy things. My classmates felt like family after a very short time. I continued the course when my family and I moved from Germany to Texas. My boss in Texas was just the sweetest old man. He knew how to make you feel at home even if it wasn't his home. His motivation, advice, and focus on seeing me succeed contributed to my grades in high school and my decision to join the Army. I stayed in Texas for two years until one day I came home from school to find my mother packing up all our things. in our big red Toyota truck. He said, “Pack all your things, we're going to leave to be with Jennifer and Jordan” – Mom's best friend and my childhood friend – “so we're going to Mississippi.” I stared at her for about two minutes as she hurriedly packed her clothes into suitcases, but then I went to my room, rummaged through the closet, and started packing too. We finished the whole house in a few hours, went to pick up my little brother from nursery and said goodbye
