Before starting this course I never knew what sociology was. I thought I knew, but I really didn't. I thought it was a boring study of the society we live in, but this course proved me wrong. Through many different concepts taught I was able to understand what sociology really is and how to apply it to my daily life. There were many topics we talked about in class that I can apply to my life, whether it's school, work, home. Some of the many topics we talked about that really resonated with me were sexuality, race, and gender. Sexuality was one of my favorite topics in the class. I say this because it was what interested me the most and what I wanted to know more about. Due to my background I had a limited view of sexuality. This was based on my culture and religion. During the course I learned what sexuality was and the different types of sexual orientations. Many of the things taught in these classes were eye-opening for me.
