Theoretically, criminology is the attempt to understand crime and its underlying patterns. Criminology is also described as an interdisciplinary profession built around the scientific study of crime and criminal behavior including its forms, causes, legal aspects and control. Criminology is considered more of a behavioral or social science that studies the causes of criminal behavior and the social response to crime. Criminology encompasses many areas of research including, for example, the incidence, forms, causes and consequences of crime, as well as social and governmental regulations and the response to crime. Classical criminology was implemented in the late 1700s and early 1800s. “The most prominent members of this theory were Cesare Beccaria and Jeremy Bentham” (Crimetheory.com). Beccaria was known as a law reformer; transforming the criminal justice system in Euro and indirectly brought it to the United States and the rest of the world. On the other hand Jeremy Bentham supported Beccaria and shared common ideas and theories on criminology and criminal behavior, where both agreed that criminal conduct could be understood and well controlled. The theory of the classical school of criminology fundamentally considers human nature to be rational and hedonistic where humans act out of self-interest but at the same time rational and capable of creating new laws and punishments so that people understand peaceful and non-criminal behavior. Biological criminology theory holds that fundamental determinants of human behavior, including criminality, are constitutionally or physiologically based and often inherited. Numerous studies on genetic behaviors have shown that genetic and environmental contributions are a large cause for individuals...... half of the article...... times ranged from young girls to mature older men and women, so his type of behavior could determine the killer's modus operandi, mental weakness and other needs. Ramirez suffered from a personality disorder characterized by antisocial behavior and lack of affection due to his drug addiction and behavior. My reflection as I researched and relied on Ramirez's behavior and conduct is that if Ramirez had been incarcerated for drug problems in his twenties, he should be treated in prison before being reinserted into society. Once the treatment has been successfully completed, the prisoner must be reintegrated into society with the main purpose of rehabilitating prisoners who will never commit crimes again. Make sure you help them integrate into society with the support of a job in any sector and provide accommodation until they become completely independent.
