In George Orwell's book “1984” there are many situations. One of the many situations is that some people call society “Orwellian”. People believe that Orwell is a realist and says that he is now part of our society. George Orwell was a 20th century writer. He was a totalitarian. He also wrote about dystopias. George Orwell wrote the book “1984” on June 8, 1949 and shortly before. The world was eager for it! Within twelve months he had sold around fifty thousand hardback books in the UK; in the United States sales exceeded a third of a million George Orwell was from London, he was born in British India. He is a British subject, some would say. George had two wives. He is a British born Indian. There are many people who think that the book "1984" is a satire and there are others who believe that it is as real as a book can be. People who haven't even read the book or know anything about it, yet know who Big Brother is and who is Orwellian. People hear about Big Brother and Orwellian on the news and just about everywhere else. Orwell was unaware that his book had such an impact on the world. People believe in his book, they admire Orwell and his book 1984. I believe that George Orwell's book “1984” is as real as it seems. I personally think this is a realistic story because of all the camps and how people got to those camps. The other realistic thing is the amount of citizen apathy and desperation to change the situation. Even in a free country people find it overwhelming to oppose the government or even stand up for what they believe. The main character of George Orwell's book “1984” is a thirty-nine year old man named Winston Smith. Winston Smith thought that ... middle of paper ... you couldn't just go to the store and buy some sugar because their supplies were limited. They limited their supplies because they didn't want families to buy out the store and not leave enough food for everyone else. George Orwell's book “1984” really opened the eyes and minds of many people, including mine. I hope the government doesn't go as far as in the book. Of course I told you about the characters in George Orwell's book “1984” and why they had an important part in the book, the characters were Julia, Winston Smith, O'brien and Big Brother. I also told you why people thought that the book “1984” was a satirical story and why many people think that the book is not a satire, I believe that this book is not a satire, I told you why to think that it is not a satire satire and that the country has changed for the good and that the country has changed for the bad.
