The intended audience for my poster is primarily Canadian men who have yet to enlist in the war, as well as young children. The purpose is to encourage men to enlist and allow children to develop and grow up with a sense of loyalty and patriotism towards Canada. As a result, this could lead them to assist in current war efforts on home fronts or enlist in future wars. The two main themes of this poster are the use of patriotic colors and the use of images that relate to the poster's slogan. I used the image of the flag of the United Kingdom as the background of the poster because of its ability to create a spark of patriotism in all citizens of the British dominions. This image attracts a lot of attention because the bright colors that stand out on the page will look familiar to citizens of the British dominions (e.g. Canada). The image of an overjoyed boy being held by a soldier (his father) was also used to portray an image directly related to the slogan.
