Topic > Dr. Martin Luther King's philosophy of nonviolence...

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s letter from a Birmingham prison gave people a glimpse into the mind and his unwillingness to give up his dream of a better life and respect for "niggers." However, it is not only his mentality that we understood, but also his philosophy, his mantra. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a devout Christian and refused to use cruel, demeaning words and unnecessary violence to make people understand his ideas. He fought against the injustices inflicted on blacks by the "white power" of Birmingham. A letter from a Birmingham prison also provided insight into his personality and character. Throughout the letter he never used cruel words, he never used words that could be taken in an offensive way by the people he was protesting against, in some cases what he says can be taken lightly and jokingly, and he always spoke with respect . He even apologized to the reader, the "white power", and asked his God for forgiveness. Dr. King's philosophy, his commitment to the cause, and his unwavering determination to realize his dream for future generations have made him made him a hero among the masses, an unforgettable icon for the civil rights movement. His message, no matter what or where, shook the very chains that “white power” still had around black people. His words added weight to the opposite side of the balance beam, giving strength and weight to Black people. His gospel of freedom through nonviolence was the pillar, foundation of the Civil Rights Movement, and mantra for people fighting for justice throughout the South. However, I ask you, in today's society, is his message still meaningful? Is there a way to get people to fight with you without using force? The answer... middle of paper... will highlight you and your goals and try to stop you by any means necessary. His philosophy was a beacon and still is for people today, even if it exists in those rare and fleeting moments when a person steps in and stops a physical fight between two people, or when a person stands up for people who have been shot down injustices. about them because of who they are and the things they cannot change. His message is strong, stronger even more now because we the people have a person to look up to, we can move the coldest people with determination and willpower because those together are what brought black people to where we are today. The meaning of his words, his philosophy, join with others from the past to create a beautiful mosaic of heroes who used words, non-violence and brought real meaning to the saying "the pen is mightier than the sword".’.
