Examine whether obtaining an early childhood credential will change the status of untrained early childhood workers, the work they do, their level of remuneration and their position within the early childhood sector and the wider community. This research addresses the gap in the existing literature on the education and training of early childhood workers, which has mainly focused on the role of the qualified teacher in early childhood services, their education and training.
