I would love to work for companies in project management roles, but it wouldn't be my first preference. Much of what is stated in Dr. Nelson's article really made sense to me. Project managers continue to make mistakes, without learning from past failures or the mistakes of others, because they do not educate project management best practices. A project manager needs to think about what worked and what didn't, what to change and what to keep the same. What shocked me the most was reading about all the crazy failures and because of this millions and billions of dollars were wasted. Most of these companies are part of the Fortune 500 list, the best of the best. People would expect a company with so much money and expertise to be successful, but as we can see, it only takes one mistake to bring down an empire (BOA example). What is most shocking is that...
