The definition of a successful entrepreneur could be the concern of understanding how to have a successful business, from the perspective of Carland et al. (1984, p.358) defines a small business owner as a person who creates and operates a business with the primary goal of supporting personal goals. On the other hand, Garland et al. (1984, P.358) gives an entrepreneur the ability to create and manage a business by considering profit and growth through creative behavior and management. These two visions can be composed so that the entrepreneur's purpose is profitable and growth, while the small business owner's purpose is more individual goals. According to Rabechini Jr (2005), the difference between a company owner and a manager is how to behave when faced with the problem. The best way to solve the problems faced by an organization is to dare. For example, in the case of small restaurants selling takeaway food when the manager receives a problem from the customer, then the manager cannot decide how to behave in this situation but the owner can make a decision to judge how to solve the problem. So, this situation means that if a manager does not have the ability to manage, his business would also be a failure. The characteristic of an entrepreneur is not specific to describe. One might agree that there is a human behavior that must be a complete discipline and can be patient for any stress (Baron, 1998). There are many characteristics defined by Soo (1999) among the "ten main characteristics shared by today's entrepreneurs"1. Recognize and exploit opportunities2. Full of resources3. Creative4. Visionary5. Independent thinker6. Hard worker7. Optimistic8. Innovator9. Risk Taker10. LeaderHowever, it could be argued that how to make the company work depends on reality... middle of paper... on a number of aspects to thinking of leadership as cooperative management by groups of members, societies, suppliers or buyers in organizations and so on. Therefore, to clearly specify that leader is an individual who manages, controls and makes decisions in the organization to succeed in business. In terms of small business, to determine success the critical factors for small businesses explored by Steiner and Solem (1988) which involve managing background and exposure, adaptability to the job and knowledge of competitive advantages arising from ownership. By the way, it depends on the performance also like good communication, service mentality, good creative idea, ability to reduce business risk, flexibility, friendly but also role as a manager who can manage the organization and ability to work long hours. There are many factors that can make you successful, while there are not many entrepreneurs who manage to do so at all.
